CRIMINAL To Donate Profits From London Show To Earthquake Relief Charity
March 23, 2010Slaughterhouse Promotions and Anglo-Chilean thrash masters CRIMINAL have agreed to donate all profits from the band's May 22 London headlining show to the charity Un Techo para Chile ("A Roof for Chile").
Un Techo para Chile provides housing — both temporary and definitive — to families in need and is one of the main organizations channelling the help to the victims of the massive earthquake that shook Chile on February 27.
Comments CRIMINAL vocalist/guitarist Anton Reisenegger: "I grew up in Chile so I am quite used to earthquakes, but this one was much worse than anything I ever had to experience.
"I was really shocked when I saw the pictures; the degree of devastation is overwhelming.
"I am really grateful to Slaughterhouse Promotions for giving us the chance to help by donating all proceeds from our London show to a respectable and transparent charity organization like Un Techo para Chile. What better way to help than doing what we do best: playing metal for our friends and fans!"
The event will take place at the Purple Turtle in Camden on Saturday, May 22. Also appearing on the bill will be France's INFEST and the U.K.'s TRIFIXION (formerly known as DITCHCREEPER) and NEBUKADNEZZA.
CRIMINAL has just released a new music video for the song "Incubus". The clip, which can be viewed below, was directed and edited by renowned Chilean visual artist Carlos Toro, who has previously worked with KREATOR, VADER, LACRIMOSA and MERCENARY, among others.
"Incubus" comes off CRIMINAL's latest album, "White Hell", which was released in February 2009 by Germany's Massacre Records. The CD is being widely hailed as the band's finest record to date.
CRIMINAL recently supported METALLICA in Chile in front of over 55,000 raging metalheads. Video footage of the show will be posted in the near future.
